Bruckland SCRAN recycling centre
Centrally located at the Hillswick/Ollaberry junction, NCDC’s Bruckland SCRAN recycling centre is a place where surplus household goods can be left or collected for re-use, where scrap metal and waste plastic can be disposed of, and our carbon footprint reduced.
Bruckland was set up in 2019 to deal with large household waste and metal scrap in the community. Since then, it has gone from strength to strength and now has three shipping containers and a portacabin with a huge range of goods from furniture to bairn’s toys and everything in between.
Between September 2022 and September 2023 we estimate that over 9 tonnes of goods have been redirected from landfill!
For anyone who lives in Northmavine, we offer an annual membership scheme for £60 to have unlimited use of the skips. We also offer a 50% discount on membership for anyone who is willing to volunteer a minimum of four hours a month to help out. Residents from Northmavine can also pay as you go to use the skips for £10 a time. We also welcome donations of better quality items.
Items are available to take away for a donation which helps to cover the costs of running the site.
