Northmavine Community
The population of Northmavine (around 740) is located around the main settlement areas of Hillswick, Ollaberry, North Roe and Sullom. There are modern primary schools and health facilities in the area, and there are five local community halls, each run by a dedicated group of volunteers. There are shops at Hillswick and Ollaberry public toilets at the Hillswick waterfront, the Eshaness café (only open during the summer), Collafirth Brig and the Ollaberry shop. Cash is available from shops & post office. Public halls in the area are often open in the summer for Sunday Teas, serving delicious home bakes and in the winter doing takeaway nights.
