The Living Well Hub has moved to the Clubroom of the Brae Hall, the entrance is on the North side of the hall.
The Living Well Hub is a place to have a face to face chat and find out about:
- Living independently
- Local groups & activities
- Support for unpaid carers
- Services who could help you and your family
- Being healthy... and more!
This week:
- Come along for a cuppa and reminisce about your sporting memories between 10am and 12 noon. We will have some old photos and resources to look at – feel free to bring along anything you have, photos, trophies etc. This week there may be carpet bowls to try
- Community Winter Pop In 10am – 1pm at the hub serving bacon rolls and a cuppa, poster attached for information, come along with your knitting, crafts or just yourself. Transition Turriefield will be along the hub this week with Lynsey, find out which plants grow best where. There are 12 places for this so please get booked in quickly, can what’s app/text/call Lynsey on 07721694506 to book your place. 2 posters attached for information
- SIC Housing will be along 10am – 1pm: The Housing Support Service offers support to people to manage and maintain a home. This service is available to those who are finding it difficult to maintain their accommodation, are homeless or potentially homeless, and those in sheltered housing. It can include things like: help with budgeting and paying bills, planning meals and shopping, emotional support, , help to pursue social or leisure interests, advice on managing debts, help applying for the right benefits and grants, Housing Support is available to all Council and private tenants, and home owners.
- Shetland Wmen’s Aid will be along the hub between 10am and 2pm: “For anyone experiencing domestic abuse or gender-based violence, or concerned about a friend or relative, Rebecca from the Domestic Abuse Partnership will be at the hub to welcome you into a confidential space to find out which services are available to support and how to contact them. Also, if you are simply interested in the work that the partnership does and what is happening in our local community to support gender-based violence and domestic abuse feel free to pop along”.
